Owls haul in slew of ITA academic honors

GILBERT, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced the names of those who earned 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Scholar-Athlete status, as well as the Division III squads that earned the ITA All-Academic Team award.

The Kenyon Owls not only collected the ITA All-Academic Team award, but had eight individuals named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Those individuals included: Elizabeth Ackermann, Shadia Amado Aguad, Sophia Carling, Clare Hudson, Eleni Lazaridou, Hana Nouaime, Maggie Shope, and Maya Stolarsky.

In order to gain the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, a student-athlete had to possess a grade point average of 3.50 or better for this past academic year and had to be listed on their school's institutional eligibility form. All eight Kenyon student-athletes were first-time winners of the award and, together, they tied the program record for most ITA Scholar-Athletes in a season. The 2018 and 2021 teams also had eight honorees.

The ITA All-Academic Team award, which the Kenyon women have now won 22 times since 1999, is given to those member schools that possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. The Owls easily cleared that mark, as the 12 members on the 2025-26 roster combined to post a grade point average of 3.39.

On the court, the 2025-26 Owls produced a 20-6 record and were champions of the North Coast Athletic Conference. They made an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, winning two matches, and finished the season with a No.14 national rank from the ITA.
