GABORONE, Botswana – Kenyon College women's tennis coach
Dominic Modise kept his coaching skills sharp this summer, taking on the head coaching role for the Botswana senior women's national tennis team.
Under the tutelage Modise of the women's team managed to secure promotion to the Euro/Africa Group II of the Billie Jean King Cup for 2027. With a passionate home crowd behind them, the team recorded 2-1 victories over Cameroon, Zimbabwe and Tunisia. Despite a 2-1 loss to Nigeria, promotion was secured in a second place finish.
Botswana's promotion to Group II of the Billie Jean King Cup in 2027, will mark their first play in the group since 2003.
Following success abroad, Modise now turns his focus to dominating the collegiate game, entering his third season at Kenyon.
