Andy Allison is in his tenth year of coaching, but 2021 will be his third at Kenyon. He joined the Lords staff as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. Two years ago, he coached All-NCAC selection Thomas Merkle, who finished fourth in the conference in passing yards per game.

Prior to his arrival in Gambier, Allison spent the 2018 season at NCAA Division III Macalester College, where he was an assistant who coached wide receivers, including AFCA first team All-American Alec Beatty.

Allison was also the wide receivers coach and video coordinator for Truman State University in 2017. He took on a similar role the previous two seasons at Bemidji State University. While coaching at Bemidji, the Beavers were among the top five in the country in points per game and offensive efficiency. They also were 2015 co-champions of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and capped off the 2016 season with an 8-3 record and a Mineral Water Bowl title. During that same time, Allison coached all-conference receiver Blake Holder, who went on to sign a free agent contract to play for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2018 season.

Allison played wide receiver and defensive back for the University of Minnesota. Following his collegiate career, he spent several years playing amateur semi-pro football for various teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin. He then kicked off his coaching career with one-year stints as an assistant at St. Olaf College and University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Allison earned his bachelor’s degree in family social science from Minnesota in 2011 and completed his master’s of arts and teaching from Bemidji in 2017. Allison resides in nearby New Albany.
