In four years with the Lords football team, Carlo Gagliardo was all over the field as a defensive back, kick and punt returner, and wide receiver. Now he will enter his first year all over the sidelines as an assistant coach with the Lords and will work exclusively with the Kenyon running backs.
Gagliardo is second all-time in the Kenyon Football record books in both kick return yards (1,717) and kick returns (80) as well as fourth all-time in average yards per kick return (21.46) over the course of a career. For the first three years of his career, Gagliardo lined up in the defensive backfield as a cornerback where he recorded 103 tackles, four interceptions, and had 5.5 tackles for loss. At the beginning of his senior year, he was moved to the offensive side of the ball and lined up at wide receiver. There, Gagliardo put together 61 catches for 689 yards and six touchdowns en route to being named All-NCAC honors that year.
Over the last three winter and spring seasons, he was a member of the Kenyon track and field team as a sprinting specialist. Gagliardo is a six-time all-conference selection and has his name on three indoor and three outdoor track and field records.
Gagliardo is set to graduate this year with a degree in economics.
