2016 will mark Patrick Moynahan's fourth season working with the Kenyon football program. He came to Gambier three years ago to work with the Lords' linebacking corps after capping off a stellar four-year playing career with NCAA Division I Davidson College.
As a linebacker for the Wildcats, Moynahan was a two-time All-Pioneer Football League (PFL) selection and had his best season as a senior in 2012. He was named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Pioneer Second Team at the beginning of the year and garnered much attention after setting school records in single-season tackles (122) and single-game tackles (22). Moynahan averaged 11 tackles per contest as a senior, ranking him second in the PFL and 11th nationally among FCS schools. For his efforts he was named to the 2012 All-PFL First Team in 2012.
Over his four years playing for Davidson, Moynahan started in 33 straight games at middle linebacker and earned three varsity letters. He was a named to the PFL Academic Honor Roll from 2009-12 and was a two-time Academic All-PFL team member. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Classics.
During football's off-season, Moynahan is an assistant coach with Lords and Ladies track and field teams. He assists in many areas, but his main focus is on field events.
