Andrew Kohler was hired as assistant men’s basketball coach in September 2017 and enters his fourth season working with the Lords. A graduate of DeSales University where he was a four-year letterwinner for coach Scott Coval, Kohler brings experience from two other assistant coaching stints at McDaniel College and Drew University.
At DeSales, Kohler was a part of a program that won three regular-season Freedom Conference titles and the 2014 conference tourney championship. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History in the process.
Among his duties at McDaniel, Kohler was responsible for recruiting, producing and implementing scouting reports, academic advising of student-athletes and coordinating on-campus recruiting visits. On the hardwood, Kohler helped coach a pair of All-Centennial Conference players.
Prior to McDaniel, Kohler worked from May 2014 to June 2016 at Drew. He helped coach two Landmark All-Conference selections including the conference’s Rookie of the Year and Mid-Atlantic Region Rookie of the year.
He also has over seven years of experience in coaching camps.
Kohler is currently pursuing a Master’s in Exercise Science from McDaniel.
