The Lords' bench also features third-year assistant coach Chris Ehmer, who arrived in Gambier fresh off of a two-year stint as graduate assistant coach at Alfred (NY) University. At Alfred, Ehmer served under head coach Dale Wellman, a former Kenyon assistant during the 2002-03 season.
Ehmer joined the Saxons' sideline a year after the team posted a 2-23 record and immediately helped guide them to improved results. The 2008-09 squad posted an 8-17 mark for a six-win improvement, a trend that continued in 2009-10 when the Saxons went 11-14.
Before moving up to the college ranks at Alfred, Ehmer was the head varsity basketball coach at Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Tech School in his native Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania for two years. He also coached the Pocono Region team at the Keystone State Games in 2006 and 2007.
Ehmer's coaching career began at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland as a student-assistant coach. During his four years with the Shoremen, Ehmer served as assistant and head coach with the junior varsity program.
Ehmer graduated from Washington with a bachelor of arts in Economics in 2006 and received his Master's degree in Business Administration from Alfred in 2010.
