Ryan Polak joined the Lords lacrosse program prior to the 2018 season and now enters his fourth year in 2020. Prior to coming to Gambier, he served as the director for True Lacrosse Idaho. He also served as the head lacrosse coach at Bishop Kelly High School in Boise, Idaho.
During the 2019 campaign, Polak helped the Lords get to the NCAC Tournament for the sixth time in the last seven seasons while posting an 11-6 record. He also coached nine All-NCAC selections, tying the program record. In 2018, he aided the program to a 9-6 mark and berth into the conference's four-team postseason tourney.Â

Before Idaho, Polak served as a college counseling Intern and assistant lacrosse coach at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio in 2015 and 2016.

Polak graduated from Washington College in 2014, where he played Midfield & Attack. While at Washington College, the Shoremen made three NCAA Tournament Appearances, won a Centennial Conference Championship in 2014 and made it to the NCAA DIII semifinals in that same year.
He lives with his wife and two dogs, Lola and Baker, in nearby Mount Vernon.Â
