Morgan Korinek

Eight years removed from her last shot attempt with the Ladies, Morgan Korinek enters her eighth season at Kenyon and Tomsich Arena and first as acting head coach.

In her time coaching at Kenyon, she's helped mentor 10 All-NCAC selections including Maureen Hirt, the 2013-14 NCAC Player of the Year. Korinek has also helped the Ladies reach the NCAC Tournament semifinal round four times.

While a member of the Ladies basketball team from 2009-12, Korinek constructed a highly-successful career which landed her three all-conference award nominations and placed her in the top-10 in many statistical categories in the Kenyon record books. As a freshman, she carved her way into the starting lineup and was named North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2009 behind a season where she averaged 8.5 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per contest while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field. From there, her career skyrocketed and she concluded her four-year stay averaging 12.3 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game while setting the all-time career steals mark with 236. Her best season came as a sophomore in 2009-10 when she finished the season with 14.1 points per contest and 7.9 boards per game, while shooting just over 60 percent from the field and posting a career-high 74 steals. Following her senior season, she was chosen to play in the Jump25.com Ohio College All-Star game and was selected as her team's Most Valuable Player.

Korinek also stands alongside solid company in the Kenyon top-10 for steals per game (1st, 2.4), scoring (7th, 1,233), scoring average (8th, 12.3), field goals made (7th, 485), field-goal percentage (2nd, .530), free throws made (3rd, 255), total rebounds (2nd, 790), rebounds per game (5th, 7.9), and blocks (10th, 35).

During the 2012-13 season at Bethany, Korinek helped led the Bison to the PAC Tournament and had two players named to all-conference honorable mention awards. One of her players, Kayla Taormina, eclipsed the 1,000-point barrier late in the season.
