George Cooper enters his fourth year as assistant coach with the Lords football team. He will help the team's wide receivers in 2017 after assisting along the offensive line in 2016. A native of Westerville, Cooper came to Gambier as a part of the National Football League Players Association's Coaching Internship Program.
Cooper was a former member of the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons. He also gained coaching experience as a player/coach for the Graz Giants in the Austrian Football League. While with the Giants, he was also tasked with coaching the offensive and defensive lines for the league's youth team.
