GAMBIER, Ohio – In its final home match of the season, the Kenyon College volleyball team just could not get its attack together Saturday. That left the visiting Denison University Big Red to take full advantage of the situation and roll to a 25-17, 25-11, 25-10 North Coast Athletic Conference victory in Tomsich Arena.
The Ladies had 21 kills throughout the three sets, but they also recorded 22 errors. Junior
Sierra DeLeon and sophomore
Kaitlyn Power were the only two Ladies to turn in a positive hitting percentage. DeLeon led the way with nine kills and Power added four.
Sophomore
Hannah Shank had a team-best 16 assists for Kenyon and freshman
McKenzie Mitchell led the Ladies in the digs department with six.
While the Ladies struggled, Denison's Kenzie Kuhn certainly did not. She threw down 13 kills, scored five service aces, had two solo blocks, and helped lift the Big Red's records to 18-8 overall and 5-3 in the NCAC.
The loss dropped Kenyon to 3-17 overall and 1-7 in the NCAC. The Ladies will finish off their 2012 season next Saturday in a tri-match at Case Western Reserve University.
