GAMBIER, Ohio  – The front end of the Kenyon College Volleyball schedule has brought forth some of the Ladies' toughest competition of the season to the hardwood, and Tuesday night was no exception. Kenyon played its second nationally ranked team in as many matches when it hosted No. 12 Wittenberg University in a return to North Coast Athletic Conference play. The Tigers only needed three sets to claim their 11th victory while the Ladies continue to search for their first of the season.

Wittenberg started strong by hitting .400 as a team in the first set, rallying behind Andrea Behling's five kills. It was the first of two occasions she would tally that many in a single set as she led the Tigers with 12 altogether.

Kenyon had no answer for Wittenberg's powerful offense, dropping each set by double digits (25-12, 25-10, 25-11). Sierra DeLeon continued to lead the Ladies offensively, putting together a team-high eight kills on the night. Mary Jo Scott was next in line with four while leading the squad with 12 digs, six alone coming in the first set.

The Ladies also welcomed a newcomer to the court. Sophomore Allison James suited up for the first time this season and played in two sets, recording her first kill in the third. She added one service ace and a dig in her debut.

Hannah Shank added 15 assists and seven digs for the Ladies while libero McKenzie Mitchell put forth seven digs.

The road ahead does not get any easier for Kenyon. In their next action, the Ladies will host DePauw University on Oct. 5. While not ranked in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 poll, they received four votes and currently sport a 15-1 overall record. First service from Tomsich Arena will be at 1 p.m.
