HIRAM, Ohio – The Kenyon College Lords (9-6, 5-3 NCAC) rolled to a regular season-ending 29-6 victory at Hiram College Saturday afternoon in a North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse game. Kenyon's 29 goals were the second-most in program history and most since the squad tallied 33 against Oberlin on March 22, 2000.
Sophomore
Robert Jacobs led Kenyon with five goals while also tallying a pair of assists. Six other Lords scored at least three goals and 11 total got a score to their credit.
Early in the first quarter, Hiram (3-10, 1-7 NCAC) had gained a 3-1 lead after a pair of goals from Greg Summers. But after that, the Lords went on a dominating run.
Kenyon reeled off the next 20 goals and got contributions from Jacobs,
Nick Lenard,
J.T. Meyer,
Jonah Florence,
Alex Lopez, and
Josh Galardi.
The Lords took a 17-3 lead at the break using a 35-14 shots advantage in the first half.
Rob Guldenschuh capped off Kenyon's 20-0 scoring spurt with his goal with 1:13 left in the third as he scored on an assist from
Chris Ferraro. That moved the score to 21-3.
Rounding out Kenyon's second-highest scoring output were goals from
Rory Shoemaker, Ferraro, and Chris Maffezzoli.
In goal, the Lords were able to send four players between the pipes. Junior
Patrick Shevelson played the first half and notched four saves while
Fitz Hugh Lee,
Noah Gurzenski, and
Gabriel Avis all saw action in the second half and helped the Lords shut down the Terrier offense.
Next up for Kenyon is a date in the NCAC Tournament with a potential rematch with Ohio Wesleyan University on April 22. The Lords lost a close one to the Battling Bishops on March 21 by a 10-7 score.

11 different Kenyon players scored a goal in the game which saw the second-highest scoring output
in Lords lacrosse history.
