GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Errors cost the Kenyon College Ladies volleyball team Saturday as it suffered its second North Coast Athletic Conference loss, falling to Denison University in straight sets, 25-21, 25-16, 25-14.
The Ladies kept their energy high, but were not able to overcome 19 errors on the day. By contrast, Denison had 10. With 33 kills, the Ladies had a .130 attack percentage, while Denison's was .330.
Denison's strength was at the net, where the Big Red harassed the Ladies all afternoon. Denison (7-5, 1-0 NCAC) managed 45 kills and had 11 blocks, while Kenyon had just two blocks, which were both assisted by sophomore
Lauren Kerr.

Tierney McClure and freshman
Delaney Swanson had nine kills each.
Jensen Shurbert had four kills and 23 assists, giving her a team-best 367 assists on the season.
The back line held its own against the Big Red's attack. Shurbert had a team-high 12 digs. Rachel Thorson, who leads the team with 117 digs on the season, had five Saturday.
Katie Goulder added six.
Additional help for the Ladies came from freshman
Schuyler Stupica, who had seven kills. Kerr added three kills, while
Alexi Donnelly had a pair of aces and one kill.
After starting off winning six of their first nine matches, Kenyon has now lost three straight. The team will look to bounce back when it travels to Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start.
In a 3-0 loss at Denison on Saturday, Kenyon sophomore Jensen Shurbert had four kills, 23 assists and a dozen digs.
