GAMBIER, Ohio –
Jill McCartney, Kenyon College's Director of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation, announced recently the hiring of
Brett Worsham, who joins the Athletics Department staff as the Director of Strength and Conditioning/Assistant Director of the Kenyon Athletic Center. Worsham is slated to begin his duties Monday, August 20.
"We are grateful and excited for the opportunity to have Brett join us," McCartney said. "He brings tremendous enthusiasm and experience to Kenyon and he will make significant contributions to the development of our student-athletes, as well as to the Patterson Fitness Center. Having Brett's expertise and energy will help elevate the performance of our student-athletes and our teams, as well as round out services provided to the community."
Worsham comes to Kenyon after a brief stint as the Graduate Assistant for Sport Performance at Salisbury University in Maryland. He worked with six different varsity programs at Salisbury and also assisted with management of the Fitness Center and Maggs Recreational Facility.
Prior to his work at Salisbury, Worsham held strength and conditioning positions at Webber International University in Florida and at Limestone College in South Carolina. He worked at Webber International for a little more than two years, directing strength and conditioning programs for multiple sports. He moved on to Limestone in 2015 and worked there for a year-and-a-half, supervising the training facilities, performing fitness tests and developing strength and conditioning programs for seven sports, including football.
At Kenyon, Worsham will take on programming for all 22 varsity sports, as well as the supervision of the Patterson Fitness Center. He'll coordinate community-based programming and will work in conjunction with Kenyon's wellness team to ensure the health, safety and well-being of all student-athletes and community patrons.
Worsham is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting and in Functional Movement Screening. He graduated in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Sterling College and is currently working toward obtaining a master's degree in sport and health science from American Public University.
