GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon Lords dominated second and third-quarter action en route to an 18-9 North Coast Athletic Conference lacrosse win over The College of Wooster on Tuesday afternoon at McBride Field. With the victory, Kenyon (11-5, 6-2 NCAC) earned a spot in the four-team NCAC Tournament which begins in a week.
Kenyon's offensive attack was well diversified as eight different players scored including six from
Emilio Sosa.
Nick Vitale continued his strong season pacing the team with four assists to move his record-setting season to 55 helpers.
In goal,
David Metzger had a solid day by recording nine saves.
The opening quarter was slow as there was just one goal through the first 7:18. That came to Shaun Peirce who gave the visitors their only lead of the game exactly five minutes into competition.

Mason Krahmer and
Will Harrigan.
In the second stanza, Kenyon really put its foot down. The face-off circle went in favor of the Lords early, as they won four of five and scored on three of those possessions. Leading 6-2 after a Vitale goal, Kenyon ended the quarter with a 4-1 run highlighted by two goals from
Matt Pollack. By the break, it was 10-3, Lords.
After halftime, Kenyon would not allow any Wooster comeback attempt thanks to strong play on both ends. Metzger tallied seven saves in the period while the Lords' offense outscored Wooster's 5-1.
Sam Humphrey,
Vi Lobo and
Ollie Martin all got into the scoring mix in that frame as Kenyon extended its lead to 15-4.
