Reardon returns as assistant coach

Four years removed from graduation, Ian Reardon '17 returns to campus and the Steen Aquatics Center to take over duties as Assistant Coach of the Kenyon College Lords and Ladies swimming and diving teams.

Reardon, who has accumulated coaching experience at both high school and college levels, rounds out a Kenyon staff of alums that includes Head Coach Jess Book '01 and Senior Assistant Coach Fernando Rodriguez '04.

After graduating from Kenyon with degrees in psychology and philosophy, Reardon began his coaching journey as a Volunteer Assistant at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. While tackling that workload, he also worked as Head Coach of the Longmeadow High School swimming and diving programs.

In early 2018, Reardon worked, for a little more than a year, as the Aquatics Director at Pine Knoll Recreation Area in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Following that, he was hired as the Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach, as well as Aquatics Director, at Brandeis University, where he spent the 2019-20 academic year.

While at Kenyon, Reardon was a part of two NCAA Division III Championship teams. His four-year career included a dozen All-America awards and a 2016 individual national title in the 200-yard breaststroke. His time (1:57.78) in that title-winning swim, still stands as a Kenyon record.
