GRANVILLE, Oh. – In a long-standing rivalry match, the No. 20-ranked Denison University Big Red defeated the Kenyon College men's lacrosse team, 16-7. The loss dropped the Lords to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) while Denison moved to 6-5 overall, 2-0 in the NCAC.

The Big Red started the game with two goals in a span of a minute, giving them an early 2-0 lead. Denison scored another goal at the 7:29 mark and added a man-up goal with just over a minute and a half to go in the first. After the first quarter, the Big Red held a 4-0 lead over the Lords.

Denison continued to strike fast, scoring two more goals in less than a minute to open the second quarter. Rollins Heath ended the shutout with 8:51 remaining in the first half, but Denison answered right back. Joe Boesel notched a goal with 2:50 left in the period before Cameron Longway added another with 39 seconds left. At the half, the nationally-ranked Big Red led the Lords 7-3.

In the third, Jack Giuffre found Longway for his second goal of the game to bring the score to 7-4. Denison ended the third quarter with five unanswered goals.

The Big Red started the fourth quarter off with a sixth-consecutive goal, holding a firm 13-4 lead with 12 minutes to go. Giuffre found Longway once again to cut into the lead, but Denison responded with three more. Joe Bolea found the back of the net with three minutes left in the game and Longway scored his fourth of the game but the deficit was too large.

Despite the loss, Mayo Amorello notched 15 saves in the game.
