TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams. The Kenyon College Owls not only earned the team award, but had three members claim individual awards.
In order to be labeled an ITA All-Academic Team, all varsity letterwinners on a team's roster needed to combine for a grade point average of 3.2 or better. The 2022-23 Owls had nine student-athletes on the roster and, together, they posted a team grade point average of 3.35. Remarkably, it was the 15th consecutive season the Kenyon team qualified for the ITA award.
Individually, the list of those Owls making the grade were Erika Pontillo,
Catriona MacIntosh, and
Eleni Dakos. Those three were all tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes for maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better throughout the academic year.
From that trio, both Pontillo and MacIntosh graduated as four-time winners of the award.
