Owls and Battling Bishops split points in NCAC clash

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Kenyon College women's soccer team and the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops played to a 1-1 draw this Tuesday night in a fierce match that demonstrated the skill and perseverance of both sides.

Ohio Wesleyan opened the game with a goal in the sixth minute thanks to a well-placed cross from the right side by striker Taylor Noszka. The Battling Bishops took the lead after the early goal, but the Owls fought back.

In the 41st minute, sophomore Addilyn Tober scored a spectacular goal from right outside the box to tie the game for Kenyon, her third of the season. Senior Margot Kuller secured her second assist of the season, setting up Pruner's goal with a superbly timed pass.

In the closing minutes, both teams had chances to win, but both goalkeepers' crucial saves and excellent defensive play kept the score tied. Ariel Kite, the junior goalkeeper for Kenyon, made three saves, and Ohio Wesleyan's goalie made other vital stops to prevent the Owls.

With the tie, Kenyon improved their record to 9-2-5 overall and 3-1-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), while Ohio Wesleyan moved to 3-6-8 overall and 0-2-4 in the NCAC.

The Owls will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next match against Denison College on Saturday, November 1, aiming to continue their push for a strong finish in the conference standings. As of now, the Owls sit in second, one point behind John Carroll University.
