Six Owls make CSC Academic All-District Team

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Kenyon College Owls placed six student-athletes on the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Those making the grade for Kenyon included Emily Copeland, Julianna Granetzke, Brooke Heis, Ariel Kite, Claire Pruner, and Addilyn Tober.

Granetzke, Heis, and Kite are now two-time winners of the award, while Copeland, Pruner, and Tober are first-time recipients. Both Heis and Copeland were selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot with the Academic All-America Team being announced on December 16.

To be eligible for the district honor, a student-athlete had to be a key contributor who participated in at least 90 percent of the team's competitions or started 66 percent of those competitions. The student-athlete had to be on the team's active roster for at least two years and, most importantly, had to possess at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, each college or university team was limited to six nominations.

Copeland, a sophomore forward, led Kenyon and tied for the lead in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) with nine goals. She also led all NCAC players in shots (68) and ranked third in points (18). She was the 2024 NCAC Newcomer of the Year and she's a two-time All-NCAC Second Team honoree.

Granetzke, a senior forward and a molecular biology major, contributed two goals and an assist in 17 games played, while Pruner, a sophomore forward/midfielder and a double major in molecular biology and English, ranked second on the team with eight points on three goals and two assists in 18 games played.

Heis, Kite, and Tober were all part of a record-setting defense for the Owls. The unit established single-season program standards for fewest goals allowed (9), goal against average (0.50), and shutouts (11). Heis and Tober were defenders, while Kite was the team's go-to goalkeeper. Heis, who was recently named to the All-NCAC FIrst Team, tallied two assists and started all 18 games for the Owls. Tober played in 17 games and scored three goals, while Kite generated a 0.54 goals against average, eight solo shutouts, and 36 saves. In the classroom, Heis is a biochemistry major, Tober majors in chemistry, and Kite studies psychology.

The six honorees made a major impact on the 2025 team, which was one of the most improved teams in all of NCAA Division III, taking last year's 1-11-2 record and turning it into a 9-4-5 mark this season.
