GAMBIER, Ohio – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the organization's 2025 NCAA Division III Volleyball Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, and Kenyon College placed four student-athletes on the annual list:
Lauren Blakemore,
Arianna Flota,
Hannah Schwemm, and
Mariyah Rumpca-Veronese.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes who excel both athletically and academically. To be eligible, nominees must be key contributors who participate in at least 90 percent of their team's sets or start 66 percent of matches, be on the active roster for at least two years, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. Each NCAA Division III institution is permitted up to four nominees.
Blakemore earned the distinction for the third time in her career, becoming the most decorated member of this year's quartet. The senior libero played in all 26 matches and tied for the team lead with 91 sets played. She paced the Owls defensively with 352 digs (3.87 per set) and ranked second on the team with 23 service aces. Blakemore also contributed 48 assists and four kills. Away from the court, she majors in history and Arabic.
Flota, a junior defensive specialist, secured her second CSC Academic All-District honor. She appeared in 25 matches, starting 12, and logged 88 sets, third-most on the team. Flota totaled 213 digs, ranking third for the Owls, while adding 16 service aces, five assists, and two kills. She is an environmental studies major.
Schwemm makes her first appearance on the Academic All-District team following a strong junior campaign. The defensive specialist played in 25 matches and earned 22 starts. She led Kenyon in assists with 575 and added 13 service aces. Defensively, Schweem finished second on the team with 253 digs and tied for fourth with 14 blocks. She majors in international studies and history.
Rumpca-Veronese also earned her first CSC Academic All-District nod after a breakout sophomore season. Playing in 23 matches with 22 starts, she led the Owls in every major offensive category except assists. She totaled 258.5 points (3.27 per set), 216 kills (2.73 per set), and a team-high 32 service aces, while also recording 18 assists. Defensively, she added 179 digs, fourth-most on the team, and 14 blocks, tying for fourth. Rumpca-Veronese majors in chemistry and English.
Collectively, the four honorees helped guide Kenyon to its first postseason appearance since the 2022 season.
