Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Owls top Shoremen, run record to 7-0

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The No. 16-ranked Kenyon College men's tennis team remained perfect Monday evening, chalking up a 7-0 win over Washington College to run its season dual-meet record to 7-0. That marks the best start to a season since Kenyon's 2018-19 team also started out with seven straight wins.

The Owls captured the doubles team point by sweeping all three matches. Paulo Pocasangre Kreling and Alejandro Gonzalez led the way at No. 1 with a 6-3 victory. At No. 2 and No. 3, the Owls posted identical 6-1 wins. Josh Finkle and Eric Zhang took the middle match, while Rohan Sriram and Gianluca Bocanegra took care of business at No. 3.

Three of those Kenyon doubles players went on to rack up another win in singles play. That trio was, again, led by Pocasangre Kreling. He claimed victory in the No. 1 match-up, defeating Washnigton's Sihoo Kim 6-1, 6-1.  At No. 2, Gonzalez knocked off Aaradith Ravichandran 6-0, 7-5. Finkle then completed the run, posting a 6-1, 7-5 win against David Kohl Perkins in the No. 5 match.

Kenyon's other singles match wins in the team's shutout victory came from Juozas Cioladis at No. 3, Rakkan Audeh at No. 4, and Jay Kedar Dixit at No. 6. Cioladis and Audeh won in straight sets, while Dixit got extended before charting a 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) win.

The Owls return to action tomorrow to finish off their rain-delayed match against Carthage College.
