Owls topple Tigers with season-high goal effort

GAMBIER, Ohio – Playing in its first home game since February 23, the Kenyon College men's lacrosse team took on DePauw University Saturday afternoon for the team's second North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) contest of 2025.

Fueled by a season-best offensive performance, the Owls cruised to a 28-3 win over the Tigers to improve to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Hill Carter led off the day with a tally within the first 40 seconds of action, assisted by Nathan Kissela. After DePauw fired back at 10:46 in the first quarter, Kenyon would keep the visitors scoreless for the next 43 minutes of game action, firing off a 23-0 run in the process.

David Chintala scored first in the run assisted by Gavin Gumucio, followed by three more to end the first quarter from Mike Kapral, Tanner Lewis, and Rollins Heath. After 15 minutes, the Owls captured a 5-1 lead.

The second quarter proved to be Kenyon's best offensively, scoring eleven goals. Gumucio and Chintala led the efforts in the second with three goals apiece, followed by Lewis with two. Carter, Kapral, and defender Colin Williams got involved as well in the second, and the Owls took a 16-1 lead to halftime.

After the break, the offensive clinic continued, as the Owls found twine for six more goals in the third. Kapral scored twice, followed by scores from Chintala, Alex Haag, Cole Abel, and Henry Wooster

The Owls outscored the Tigers 6-2 to close the game, capping off a season-high goal effort with tallies from Wooster, Kyle Becker, Cameron Longway, Harrison Curtiss, Henry Powell, and Carsten Viravec
