Pair of Owls named to Academic All-America Team

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Kenyon College juniors Ethan Manske and Kirill Sidorko were both named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America Team. The announcement, made Wednesday, further clarified that Manske was a first-team selection, while Sidorko was among the second-team selections.

In all, just 30 NCAA Division III swimmers and divers were selected to the CSC Academic All-America Team. A dozen members made the first team, 11 were on the second team, and seven were named to the third team.

To be eligible for the Academic All-America honor, a student-athlete had to be a key contributor who competed in at least five competitions throughout the season or had a top-eight finish at a conference meet. The student-athlete had to be on the team's active roster for at least two years and had to possess a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, in order to reach Academic All-America status, a student-athlete had to be voted to the Academic All-District Team through an initial round of balloting that occurred three weeks prior.

Manske, who majors in both environmental studies and Japanese, is now a two-time honoree, collecting first-team Academic All-America positions in each of the last two seasons. In the pool, he's a three-time NCAA Division III Championship qualifier. At the 2025 NCAA Championship, Manske placed seventh in the 400-yard individual medley and placed ninth as a part of the Owls' 800-yard freestyle relay team. In all, he had four top-15 swims, which improved his College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) career All-America count to 10.

Sidorko, an economics major, made quite an impact during the 2024-25 season, his first with the Kenyon program. At the 2025 NCAA Championship, he was crowned the national champ in the 400-yard individual medley. He also placed fourth in the 200-yard medley and set a Kenyon record time in the event. Overall, Sidorko swam in five NCAA Championship events and logged top-10 finishes in all of them. His inclusion on the Academic All-America Team is the first in his collegiate career.

Both Manske and Sidorko helped the 2024-25 Kenyon team claim a runner-up finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship, as well as a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championship.
