Pair of Owls claim spots in NCAA brackets

INDIANAPOLIS --The NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Committee selected yesterday the individuals who will compete in the singles and doubles competitions of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships. Among the selections were Kenyon College junior Eleni Lazaridou and first-year Hana Nouaime.

Lazaridou was selected for the singles championship and, along with Nouaime, for the doubles championship. Lazaridou is now a three-time invitee to the singles event and a two-time invitee to the doubles competition. The appearance in the NCAA doubles championship will be a first for Nouaime.

The NCAA individual championships will consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships was based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.

Lazaridou, who made it all the way to the NCAA semifinal round of the singles championship two years ago, will enter this year's competition with a 14-2 singles record playing in the No. 1 spot for the Owls. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranks Lazaridou as the No. 12 player in NCAA Division III, as well as the No. 3 player within the Central Region ranking.

In doubles play, Lazaridou and Nouaime have played together 18 times this season and have a 15-3 record, all in the No. 1 doubles spot for the Owls. They are ranked as the No. 21 team nationally and the No. 3 team regionally.

The singles championships will be held May 24-27 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California.
