Geboy earns another national nomination from NCAC

CLEVELAND -- One day after gaining one of the North Coast Athletic Conference's (NCAC) nominations for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, recent Kenyon College graduate Sydney Geboy was announced Thursday as an NCAC nominee for the Division III Commissioners Association (D3CA) Women's Sport Student-Athlete of the Year.

Established in 2022, D3CA award recognizes graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service, and leadership. Voting is conducted by the commissioners within each of the ten NCAA Division III regions, with the top honorees recognized as finalists for the Awards Committee to select the Division III Commissioner's Association Women's Sport Student-Athlete of the Year.

Geboy, a four-year member of the Owls swimming and diving team, graduated in May with degrees in psychology and sociology. At the national level, she was a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-America and a three-time College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American. At the conference level, she made the NCAC Academic Honor Roll twice. On top of those achievements, Geboy consistently made Kenyon's Merit List, was the winner of a Kenyon Distinguished Academic Scholarship Award, and was inducted into honor societies for both psychology and sociology.

In the pool, Geboy amassed 14 All-America awards from the CSCAA. She qualified for four NCAA Division III Championships and was a key part of Kenyon's national championship teams in 2022 and 2024. Her success at national championship meets was highlighted by an NCAA event title as part of Kenyon's record-setting 200-yard freestyle relay in 2022.

With overwhelming credentials in athletics and academics, Geboy didn't slow down in the areas of leadership and service. She was a four-year member of the Kenyon Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as vice president for one year. She served for three years as a member of the NCAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a Kenyon Student Orientation Leader for two years. Geboy also helped with Kenyon's celebration for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, served as a Senior Admissions Fellow, played a role on Kenyon's Student Council, and volunteered with both Knox County Head Start and Knox County Special Olympics.
