Breard earns NCAC’s first weekly award of the season

CLEVELAND -- The first North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Cross Country Athlete of the Week award went to Kenyon College senior Joshua Breard. The conference made the announcement Wednesday and based its selection on Breard's performance in Friday's Port Kenyon Opener.

Breard, and the rest of the Owls team, kicked off the 2025 schedule at that home meet on Friday and finished atop a four-team field. Breard led the way, clearing the 6k course in a time of 19:14.5 and beating 57 other runners to the finish line.

That time was a collegiate-best for Breard, whose previous best at 6k was a 19:50.80, set at last year's Port Kenyon Opener.

Bread and the Kenyon team can enjoy the win, and the NCAC individual honor, for an extended time. Their next meet, the annual All-Ohio Intercollegiate Classic, is scheduled for Friday, September 19 at Cedarville University.
