Dragojlovic tabs Owls’ first win of NCAA championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Kenyon College men's swimming and diving team opened up the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship on Wednesday evening with a slate of five events from the University of Indiana Natatorium.

The Owls turned in a solid outing to start off the four-day championship in fourth place with 83 points, highlighted by a win in the 50 freestyle from Djordje Dragojlovic

Dragojlovic added his tenth career national championship and Kenyon's only win of the night with a 19.42 second time, his best of the season. Spencer Stluka also competed in the 50 freestyle, where he finished at 20.39 seconds, good enough for seventh place in the consolation final and second team all-American honors.

Teo Jaworski turned in a third place finish in the 500 freestyle in the first event of the night, clocking in at 4:23.75 and beating his season's fastest time by nearly seven seconds to earn first team all-American honors. Roman Savage took 7th in the consolation final with a 4:28.37 mark and a spot on the second team.

On the boards, first-year Chase Smith got his first taste of championship action in the three-meter dive. He amassed 513.85 points which was good enough to take fourth place and first team honors.

To close the evening, the team of Peter Dunson, Noel Tumbasz, Savage and Dragojlovic combined for a 3:12.41 time in the 400 medley relay. The mark shaved nearly a second off of the team's fastest score for the season and earned the quartet first team all-American honors.

Denison University leads the 37-team field with 118 points after day one, while Emory College (97) and University of Chicago (96) sit in front of Kenyon.

Thursday's preliminary heats will begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m.
