Owls top No.19 Gustavus Adolphus, 4-1

ORLANDO, Fla. – The No. 17 Kenyon College Women's Tennis team continued its spring break slate Saturday afternoon at the USTA Campus, earning a strong 4-1 victory over No. 19 Gustavus Adolphus College Women's Tennis In a neutral-site matchup.

With the win, the Owls improved to 7–2 overall and extended their winning streak to three straight matches, all coming against ranked opponents. Gustavus Adolphus moved to 10–5 on the season.

Kenyon set the tone early in doubles play by claiming two of the three matches to secure the opening point. At the top flight, Eleni Lazaridou and Hana Nouaime battled past Karina Elvestrom and Kaya DeBruijn with a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. The Gusties responded at No. 2 doubles, where Molly Austin and Lanie Davis defeated Shadia Amado Aguad and Kiara Komlodi 6-2. The decisive doubles result came at No. 3, where Clare Hudson and Bridgette Kelly delivered a 6-4 win over Ella DeYoung and Allison Szalay to give the Owls a 1-0 lead heading into singles play 

KC carried that momentum into singles action without a problem. At No. 1 singles, Lazaridou turned in a well-rounded win, defeating Elvestrom 6-2, 6-3 to double the Owls' lead. Komlodi followed suit at No. 2 singles, rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over DeBruijn. Hudson secured the decisive fourth point at No. 5 singles, defeating DeYoung 6-3, 6-2 to clinch the match for Kenyon. The Gusties' lone point of the day came at No. 6 singles, where Davis defeated Maya Stolarsky 6-2, 6-1.

Two remaining singles matches were left unfinished after the Owls clinched the victory. At No. 3 singles, Nouaime led Austin 6-3, 6-6 before play was halted, while Amado Aguad held a 7-5, 6-6 advantage over Noor Omar at No. 4 singles when the match was called.

The Owls will prepare for their final matchup in Florida on Wednesday, March 11th as they prepare to face Sweet Briar College at the Racquet Club Of Cocoa Beach. Match is set for a 9:00 a.m. start.
