Game Recap: Women's Soccer | 9/11/2026 9:42:00 PM

GAMBIER, OHIO - The Kenyon women's soccer team came to a 0-0 draw in a non-conference game against the Geneva College Tornadoes on Friday evening. With the result, the Owls remain unbeaten, starting the season 1-0-2, and recording another shutout.

From the opening whistle, the Owls were composed on defense and tactically pressed the Tornadoes into midfield turnovers, allowing the play to be controlled in their offensive half for most of the game. Kenyon outshot Geneva 10-2 in the first half alone with Mia Voutsinas tallying the first Kenyon shot on goal in the 13th minute and forcing Geneva's goalkeeper to come out and collect the ball around the six-yard box. Emily Copeland tallied another shot on goal for the Owls in the 18th minute when she hit a dangerous ball from outside the left corner of the 18-yard box.

Kenyon was offensively dominant, recording 18 shots and putting seven of those on target. Fiona Dougherty and Holly Byun each added a pair of attempts at goal as the game went on with Copeland contributing four shots and Voutsinas tallying five. The Owls made the Tornadoes goalkeeper, Natalie Foster, come off her line and make seven big saves to keep the scoreline even.

Kenyon goalkeeper, Ariel Kite, made four saves, recorded another solo shutout, and completed the third shutout of the season. The backline, led by Georgia Yatrakis, Mary Pietila, and Hannah Schmidt, limited the Tornadoes to four shots all game.

The Owls will look to build on their offensive efforts on Sunday, September 13, as they take on Johns Hopkins University at 1:30 p.m. at Mavec Field.
