Box Score
DELAWARE, Ohio – A pair of second-half goals allowed host Ohio Wesleyan University to stun the Kenyon College women's soccer team Wednesday night. The loss dropped the Ladies under .500 both overall (6-7-1) and in the North Coast Athletic Conference (2-3-1).
Freshman
Olivia Lloyd put Kenyon in command in the 40th minute with her second goal of the season, an unassisted number that originated from the top of the box. The momentum from the score carried through halftime and the Ladies were the more aggressive team in the second period but had nothing to show for it.
OWU goalie Hannah Zacharias withstood a 12-shot barrage from Kenyon after the intermission, chalking up five of her seven saves to keep Kenyon from adding to its first-half tally. The Battling Bishops (5-9-1, 2-3-0 NCAC) countered with a mere four shots, but they proved to be enough with two of them – one in the 61st minute, the other in the 69th – finding the back of the net.
Kenyon will need to bounce back Saturday in its final non-conference game of the season at Case Western Reserve University. After that, the Ladies have only two NCAC contests remaining next week in which to improve their standing in the race for the conference's postseason tournament.
