CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Kenyon College women's soccer team took a break from conference action Saturday and made the short trip north to duel with the Case Western Reserve University Spartans. The non-conference contest did not prove much, however, as the teams battled to a 1-1 draw.

Case (7-4-4) scored first on a shot from Rachel Bourque. She gathered in a pass from Christine Straka and booted home the goal about ten minutes into the second half of play.

Late in the game with Kenyon scrambling to avoid a loss, sophomore Katie Hoener lifted a shot over the Spartans goalkeeper's head and knotted things up. That goal, the first of Hoener's collegiate career, hit the back of the net with less than five minutes remaining in regulation.

Case had a bit of an edge in shots (6-4) during the overtime periods, but overall both teams wrapped things up with a total of 12 shots.

Kenyon (6-7-2) currently sits in sixth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings. The Ladies will finish off their final week of regular-season play with two conference games. They'll play at home Tuesday against Hiram College and then hit the road again for a Saturday game at Wittenberg University.
