GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Kenyon College field hockey team took a break from conference competition Sunday, but could not come up with a win at McBride Field. The Ladies struggled to get their offense going and wound up dropping a 2-0 decision to the visiting Washington & Jefferson College Presidents.

The loss, just the second at home for the Ladies this season, dropped Kenyon's overall record to 7-5. On the flip side, the win was Washington & Jefferson's fourth in a row and improved the Presidents' record to 8-4.

The only score the Presidents needed came late in the first half. Following a penalty corner, Victoria Patrick swiped a pass to her left where it was met by Erin Barno. Barno then wound up and fired her shot by Kenyon goalkeeper Sydney Carney-Knisely,  who finished the contest with four saves.

The Presidents went on to seal the deal with an insurance goal from Arielle King in the second half of play.
