GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Kenyon College men's basketball team almost turned an 18-point halftime deficit into a victory Tuesday night at Denison University. The Lords crawled all the way back to within two points, but the Big Red managed to hold on for the 74-70 victory in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

Julian Pavlin, who finished with 11 points, connected on a pair of three-pointers inside the final 30 seconds to trim Denison's 69-62 lead down to 70-68. There just wasn't enough time left for Kenyon, though, with the Big Red hitting four free throws, blocking a shot and coming up with a key steal in the game's waning moments.
The Lords trailed by as many as 26 in the first half (35-9) and still found themselves on the wrong end of a 60-43 score with nine minutes to go. Junior
Ikenna Nwadibia keyed a Kenyon surge with nine of his game-high 22 points over the next five minutes. At the end of the spurt, the Lords were within six, 63-57 with 4:14 remaining. Denison, which led the contest buzzer to buzzer, could not get its lead to more than eight points the rest of the way.

Brian Lebowitz gave Kenyon a trio of double-digit scorers with an 18-point night. He finished with 14 rebounds as well for his third double-double of the season. Nwadibia also accomplished the feat by pulling down 13 boards.
The Lords return to NCAC action Friday night when they host the No. 12-ranked College of Wooster Fighting Scots at 7:30 p.m.
