GAMBIER, Ohio – A dominant three-and-a-half minute stretch midway through the first half put the No. 12-ranked College of Wooster Fighting Scots in complete control against the Kenyon College men's basketball team Friday night. Wooster, which eventually booked an 89-62 North Coast Athletic Conference victory, scored 12 unanswered points during the run to blow open a four-point game.
With the score at 22-18 and 11:31 showing on the first-half clock, the Fighting Scots burned a timeout. The chance to strategize was just what Wooster needed and by the 7:57 mark, the lead ballooned to 34-18.
After taking a 40-24 cushion into halftime, the Scots outscored the Lords, 49-38, in the second period to put the contest away.
Wooster fueled the win with a hefty 51-35 edge on the glass. The minus-17 rebounding margin severely limited second chances for Kenyon, which finished with a 39-percent (22-57) effort from the floor. The Scots (46.6 percent, 34-73) by no mean shot the lights out in Tomsich Arena, but 22 offensive rebounds provided a huge swing in the number of offensive possessions.

Ikenna Nwadibia tallied a game-high 21 points for the Lords and also led the team with nine rebounds. Sophomore
John Bray was the only other double-digit scorer for Kenyon with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
Wooster (7-1, 4-0 NCAC) had four players reach double digits, including Jalen Goodwin, Xavier Brown and Doug Thorpe with 15 points each.
The Lords (5-5, 1-3 NCAC) won't see action again until December 30th when they visit Earlham College for a non-conference clash with the Quakers at 3 p.m.
