GAMBIER, Ohio – Kenyon College sophomore Becca Romaine scored less than five minutes into Thursday's soccer game with the Marietta College Pioneers. After that, the floodgates opened and the Kenyon College Ladies rolled to a 5-0 non-conference victory.

Freshman Olivia Lloyd set up Romaine's goal and then netted her first collegiate goal about 17 minutes later. A ball played in the air hit off teammate Katie Blake and came back to Lloyd who then headed it into the Pioneers' net. Less than two minutes later, Romaine unleashed a drive that found its mark on the left side of the Marietta goal. That was Romaine's second tally of the game and her team-best fourth of the season.

With a 3-0 lead at half, Kenyon worked to preserve the shutout, but did not shut down the offense. At the 58:16 mark, senior Clara Fischman got around her defender and worked the right end line. She then released a pass across the goal mouth, where it was met and deflected into the goal by senior Courtney Hague. That goal was Hague's third of the season.

Kenyon (2-3) camped out in the Marietta (1-5) zone for most of the game and came away with a lopsided 33-1 advantage in shots. One of the last few shots the Ladies took came from freshman Alice Bell. She broke loose at the top of the box and pumped in the Ladies' final goal with roughly five minutes left in the game.

At the other end of the field, Kenyon junior goalkeeper Lauren Wolfe did not have to make a single save to notch her first shutout of the season.

Kenyon will now attempt to carry that momentum into Saturday's road game at Carnegie Mellon University.
