COLUMBUS, Ohio – Swimming against NCAA Division I scholarship athletes is a daunting task for a Division III athlete. Members of the Kenyon College women's swimming and diving team held their own Friday night, however, and turned in some respectable individual performances during a 191-99 loss to the Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Leading the way for the Ladies was sophomore breaststroke specialist Katie Kaestner. She doubled-up on second-place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.15) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.84).

Despite winning only one event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Ladies displayed versatility and depth. Other second-place individual finishes came from Celia Oberholzer in the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.41), Mariah Williamson in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.27), Haley Townsend in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.16), and Rachel Flinn in the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.08).

One final runner-up placement for the Ladies came from Maria Zarka, who claimed that position with 253.88 points on the three-meter diving board.
