GAMBIER, Ohio -- Saturday afternoon will mark the final women's soccer match of the season for some, but for others it is the end of an era. The Kenyon Ladies will host Oberlin College at 1 p.m. at Mavec Field in their season finale while celebrating Senior Day by honoring six individuals and their contributions to the program.
Goalkeeper
Lauren Wolfe has been a rock for the Ladies all season long and has gone above and beyond for her team when called upon. The Overland Park, Kan. native has 15 shutouts to her name over her career and two this season. She has made 72 saves this season while also seeing time as a forward when injuries hit the Ladies' front line. She is joined by fellow keeper
Catherine Lloyd in their final game between the posts this season.
The remaining four seniors will leave a big vacancy in the midfield next year and have provided both depth and experience to help groom the next wave of players coming through.
Katie Blake and
Madi Kim have both come on recently, combining for three goals and an assist over their last four matches. They are joined by fellow seniors
Kristina Miklavic and
Alexa Vasios who have provided depth and key minutes over the course of the season.
Though eliminated from postseason contention, the Ladies still have pride to play for when they conclude the season this Saturday. They enter the match with a 3-3-1 record in North Coast Athletic Conference play, led by top scorers
Becca Romaine and
Maggie Smith. Romaine (7) and Smith (6) enter the match ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in total goals scored this season among their conference counterparts. Each have scored twice in a single game in matches played over the last week. Romaine also is third in the NCAC with five helpers and 19 points.Â
