CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 2-ranked Kenyon College men's tennis team ended its weekend trip Sunday with a 9-0 throttling of the University of Chicago Maroons. During the victory, Kenyon senior Paul Burgin matched the College record for career singles victories.

Burgin, who played in the No. 2 singles spot against the Maroons, chalked up a 7-6, 7-5 win against Chicago's Ankur Bhargava. The win was Burgin's 12th of the season and the 81st of his career. That ties him with Michael Greenberg and William VandenBerg for the most singles wins in program history. Greenberg graduated in 2010 with a career record of 81-15. VandenBerg graduated the same year and was 81-22. Burgin, who's currently ranked as the No. 4 singles player in NCAA Division III, still has the entire spring season ahead of him and now owns an 81-28 career mark.

Sophomore Michael Razumovsky moved up to the No. 1 singles spot for Kenyon and cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Deepak Sabada. Razumovsky also joined senior C.J. Williams to post an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Williams later went on to a 6-3, 6-4 win in the No. 4 singles match.

Kenyon doubles play also saw Burgin, who normally pairs with senior Kevin Ye, take on a new partner. He paired up with freshman Sam Geier to claim an 8-2 decision at No. 2 doubles. Meanwhile, Ye teamed with sophomore Wade Heerboth for an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
