Owls place three on CSC Academic All-District Team

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The names of those student-athletes who were selected to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team were announced Tuesday. The selections included Kenyon College's Alejandro Gonzalez, Eliezer Gonzalez, and Paulo Pocasangre Kreling.

Alejandro Gonzalez and Pocasangre Kreling both earned the honor last season, too, while Eliezer Gonzalez was last named to the team in the 2024 season.

To be eligible for the CSC's Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete had to be a key contributor who participated in at least 75 percent of the team's dual matches this season. The student-athlete had to be on the team's active roster for at least two years and, most importantly, had to possess at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.

Alejandro Gonzalez, who majors in mathematics, isn't quite done with his junior season. He helped the Owls get into the NCAA Division III Championship, where the team received a first-round bye, defeated No. 22-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College in the second round, and then dropped out of play with a third-round loss to No. 1-ranked University of Chicago. While the team's schedule came to a conclusion, Gonzalez was one of 32 student-athletes invited to participate in the 2026 NCAA Division III Singles Championship, which will take place next week in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Gonzalez will enter that upcoming Singles Championship with a 16-7 over record and a No. 45 national singles rank from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Kenyon's other two CSC honorees are both seniors and both double-majors. Eliezer Gonzalez will graduate later this week with degrees in economics and mathematics, while Pocasangre Kreling will graduate with degrees in psychology and Italian.

Pocasangre Kreling, who mainly played at No. 3 in the Owls' lineup, posted a 17-10 singles record and a 19-7 doubles record this season. Overall, in his four years with the Kenyon program, he amassed career records of 68-31 in singles play and 67-40 in doubles.

Eliezer Gonzalez focused on doubles play and was with the program for three seasons. This year, he racked up a 14-12 doubles record, which brought his Kenyon career mark to 50-33. Additionally, over those same three seasons, he put up a career 20-17 singles record, including a 6-1 mark this year.
