Owls ready to land on NCAA courts in singles and doubles

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The NCAA released its official bracket for the 2026 Division III Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Friday afternoon, drawing the best talent across the nation to Sewanee: The University Of The South for the weekend. 
 
In singles, Maximo Llamas Castellanos will face off against No. 1 seed Advik Mareedu from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges to open his tournament play. Mareedu amassed a 29-2 singles record this year for the Stags and is the top ranked singles player according to Intercollegiate Tennis Association (IITA) rankings. Llamas Castellanos currently slots in at No. 20 on the ITA charts, recording a 26-4 record this season for Kenyon in the first, second and third flights. 

Joining the first-year on the singles court is Alejandro Gonzalez, who comes in at No. 46 on the ITA singles rankings on the season. For the 2025-26 campaign, Gonzalez registered a 16-7 overall record playing out of the first and second flights. He will face off against Theo Billson, who is just under Gonzalez at 47th according to the ITA. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater junior helped the Warhawks to a 12-9 record, though he racked up a 21-4 mark individually. 

Llamas Castellanos will link up with sophomore Juozas Cioladis in the doubles bracket, after the duo went 21-6 for the season, and 13-5 in the first flight. The Owls pair comes in at No. 25 on the ITA doubles rankings and will see Mareedu once more, who along with Caleb Settles make up the top pair from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and are the No. 1 ranked ITA partnership in the tournament. 

The 2026 Division III Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships will begin on Saturday, May 23 at 9:00 a.m. from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
