OBERLIN, Ohio  – The Kenyon Lords men's tennis team will have the opportunity to achieve its seventh straight North Coast Athletic Conference championship after taking care of Wittenberg University, Saturday evening. The nationally-ranked Lords delivered its second straight 5-0 decision of this year's tournament to the Tigers, setting Kenyon up against DePauw University in Sunday's championship match.

All three of Kenyon's doubles teams reeled in victories to start the semifinal match on a high note. Andrew Herring and Sam Geier rolled to an 8-1 decision in the No. 3 doubles match, followed by Tim Rosensteel and Paul Burgin teaming up for an 8-3 win in the No. 1 doubles. The combination of Kevin Ye and Wade Heerboth sealed the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win in the second doubles flight matchup.

With a 3-0 lead heading into singles play, the Lords took the match with two wins in the first two decisions reported. Geier pulled in his second victory of the day, 6-1, 6-0, over Sam Wilke while Burgin claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win in the top-flight draw. With five points, the Lords clinched the match and their 13th straight victory to advance to the finals round.

With the Lords' win over fifth-seeded Wittenberg they will face off against No. 2 seed DePauw University on Sunday in the championship match. First service is set for 3 p.m. The Tigers beat third-seeded Denison University, 5-3, in the second semifinal.

Kenyon, the tournament's top seed, is one win away from winning its seventh straight NCAC Tournament title. The Lords have taken the last six in a row, all topping Denison in the finals for the crown. Sunday's championship match is the first that will not feature Kenyon and Denison since 2004.
