LEXINGTON, Ky. – One night removed from upsetting nationally-ranked Centre College, Kenyon Ladies Soccer put together a second straight night of solid defense but could not collect enough offense to combat the Transylvania University Pioneers. Kenyon limited Transylvania to just three shots on goal but dropped a 1-0 decision, Saturday night.
Transylvania (2-1-0) scored in the 20th minute of the contest when Amy Ghibaudy connected with Abby Felthaus for her second goal of the season. It was all that was needed for the Pioneers to claim victory over the Ladies after putting pressure on their offense to respond.
The Ladies' offense stalled and was able to muster only six shots, three of which landed on goal. Pioneer goalkeeper Jerrica Scovel made all three saves to keep Kenyon off the board.
Lauren Wolfe made a pair of saves on the night. No Ladies player rattled off more than one shot over 90 minutes.
Kenyon (1-3) will take a week to rest before returning to the pitch at home against Carnegie Mellon University. Kickoff from Mavec Field is set for 1 p.m.
