GAMBIER, Ohio – The No. 13-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University men's basketball team had its prayer answered Saturday afternoon at Tomsich Arena. On the Battling Bishops' final possession, Nick Felhaber threw up an off-balance, desperation three-pointer that found its mark and allowed Ohio Wesleyan to escape with a 68-65 victory over the host Kenyon College Lords.

Over the course of the last five minutes of the game, Ohio Wesleyan and Kenyon traded the lead several times. With 1:30 on the clock, Ohio Wesleyan's Dre White converted a three-pointer that gave the Battling Bishops a 65-63 lead. A little less than a minute later, Kenyon got a game-tying, baseline jumper from Julian Pavlin. That set the stage for Felhaber's wild game-winner.

When Ohio Wesleyan started its final possession it whittled the shot clock and game clock down to the last few seconds. While trying to kill time, the Battling Bishops did not allow themselves a good look at the hoop. Felhaber ended up with the ball in his hands as the shot clock nearly expired. In an effort to beat the buzzer, he turned and fired up an awkward shot that snapped through the net with just six seconds left in the game. Kenyon had one final chance to tie, but a rushed three-pointer from Tim Connolly hit the front of the iron and bounced away.

The Lords, who held the lead for the majority of the game, didn't do themselves any favors at the free throw line. They had plenty of opportunities to put more points on the board, but ended up shooting 15-of-27 (55.6 percent) at the line. On the other side of the court, Ohio Wesleyan didn't get as many opportunities as Kenyon and they didn't fare any better. The Battling Bishop were just 6-of-13 (46.2 percent) at the line.

Kenyon was able to stay in front for most of the game because of the play of Ikenna Nwadibia, Brian Lebowitz, and Tim Connolly. Nwadibia nearly pulled off a triple-double. He scored ten points, grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, and dished off a personal-best eight assists. Lebowitz snared eight rebounds and tallied up 18 points, including two on a thunderous dunk that gave Kenyon a 61-60 lead with 3:04 left. Connolly went 3-of-4 from long range and chipped in with 12 points for the Lords, who are now 10-11 overall and 7-7 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.

White ended up with 14 points for Ohio Wesleyan, but it was big man Reuel Rogers who paced the team with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Felhaber finished with nine points on 3-of-10 shooting from three-point territory.

From the start, Kenyon took control of the game and built leads of 16-6 and 25-14. Ohio Wesleyan battled back and managed to tie the game up three times. The third time was just before the half and sent the teams into the break in a 36-36 deadlock.

The Battling Bishops then scored the first basket of the second half, giving them their first lead of the game. Kenyon, however, answered with a 9-2 run that saw John Bray score four points in about a minute. That seven-point advantage would be the largest for the Lords in the second half.

It took all the way to the 4:46 mark, but Ohio Wesleyan ended up catching Kenyon again. The win was Ohio Wesleyan's eighth in its last nine games and bumped the Battling Bishops' record to 17-4 overall and 11-3 in the NCAC.
