SPRINGFIELD, Ohio  – Paul Henshaw helped the Kenyon College baseball team end the 2014 season on a high note, going all nine innings in the team's 3-1 win over Wittenberg University, Sunday afternoon. A four-hit day by John Nahra helped spur the offense enough to claim a victory in the Lords' last game of the season. They conclude the campaign with a 13-24 overall record and a 4-16 conference ledger.

Wittenberg's only run came in the bottom of the first off of an error in the field, but after that Henshaw (2-5) shut down the Tigers. He sprinkled just four hits in his nine innings of work and struck out two hitters in the process. Henshaw did not surrender his first hit until the fourth inning and the next did not come until the sixth. He retired the Tigers side in order three different times.

Kenyon tied the game in the top half of the second inning after Sam Gillespie hit a sacrifice fly to score Nahra. He was a double away from completing the cycling after stringing together a homer, triple, and two singles. The big inning that put the Lords ahead for good was the fourth. In that frame, Nahra blasted his fourth home run that scored Nate Lotze on the drive. Up 3-1, the Lords needed no more with Henshaw's dominant day on the bump.

Nahra ended the day hitting 4-for-4 from the plate with two runs scored and two runs batted in. He and Lotze accounted for six of Kenyon's seven hits on the day. Lotze also broke the Kenyon record for total at bats in a career. With four on Sunday, he now has 522, surpassing Jake Calcei '09 and his 520 at bats.

The win wraps up the series and the season for the Lords. They finish the season with a slight edge over Wittenberg for ninth in the overall NCAC standings.
