Kenyon fell to Hanover 2-1 Saturday. The Ladies were held to five shots on-goal,
their second-lowest mark of the season.HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover College scored twice in the second half to overcome Kenyon College 2-1 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer matchup.
The Ladies jumped out to a 1-0 lead with just under a minute remaining until halftime when
Becca Romaine scored with a shot to the left corner.
Kenyon had three other shots on-goal in the first half, but Panthers goalie Karlee VanDerWeele would deny all those attempts.
It was in the 71st minute that Hanover tied the match. After a Kenyon penalty in the goalie's box, Rebecca Tumlin converted the PK to bring the score to 1-1.
Taylor Jamil attempted to push Kenyon ahead 2-1 in the 80th minute but her shot was saved by VanDerWeele. The Panthers goalkeeper collected four saves during the game.
Elaine Simpson provided the final tally in favor of Hanover in the 81st minute as she put back a rebounded shot past Ladies keeper
Alissa Poolpol.
Kenyon was out-shot during the match 11-9 and trailed in corner kicks 3-1.
The Ladies will visit Otterbein University for their next match September 24 at 7 p.m.
