Sydney Matteson dialed up three individual wins on Friday as the Ladies
defeated Ohio Wesleyan. Kenyon also competed at Cincinnati's Winter Invitational.

CINCINNATI RESULTS
GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon Ladies swimming and diving team split up on Friday afternoon to take part in two events at Ohio Wesleyan University and University of Cincinnati. In nearby Delaware, Kenyon won handily over the Battling Bishops, 146-84, and in the quad meet at Cincinnati, the Ladies had several B-cut times and came in fourth after the first day.

In the early afternoon against the Battling Bishops, the Ladies claimed ten events including five combined individual races from freshmen
Sydney Matteson and
Julia Green.

Matteson won three events totaling 27 points for Kenyon. Her first-place finishes came in the 100 IM (1:03.23), 100 backstroke (1:00.57) and 200 backstroke (2:07.15). For Green, she touched the wall first during the 100 and 200 freestyle events in 55:44 and 1:56.18, respectively.

Before those individual finishes, Kenyon opened the day with the 200 medley relay.
Paige Haden,
Ellis Wood,
Abby Chopp and
Andjela Vasic teamed up to take first with a time of 1:53.62.

In addition to that relay win, Chopp, Vasic and Wood also attained individual event titles. Chopp finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.39 while Vasic won the 50 free (24.97) and Wood the mixed 200 butterfly (2:14.96).

Rounding out Kenyon's top spots was
Scout Wilkins' performance in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:40.84.

A few hours later at Cincinnati's Winter Invitational, the 200 medley relay team of
Hannah Orbach-Mandel,
Summer Otazu,
Hollie Hopf and
Julia Wilson came in fourth with a 'B' cut time of 1:45.37.

Several events later, Orbach-Mandel came in fourth during the 100 freestyle. The Tucson, Ariz., native touched the wall in 51.67 which was good for another 'B' cut time for the Ladies. In the same race,
Zoe Toscos and
Abby Wilson came in eighth and tenth place, respectively.

Kenyon's final qualifying times came from
Julia Wilson and
Ellie Crawford. Wilson, a specialist in the breaststroke, took the 100-yard event in fourth place with a time of 1:05.02. For Crawford, she came in seventh in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.21.

The Ladies closed their day-one efforts with their best mark in any race during the 200 freestyle relay. Orbach-Mandel,
Abby Wilson,
Laura Duncan and Toscos finished in third with a time of 1:36.78 which was just over a second away from meeting 'B' cut standards.

There will be one more day of competition at Cincinnati's Winter Invitational tomorrow at 11 a.m.
