Kendall Vanderhoof was victorious in the 400-yard individual medley and 100 freestyle on
Friday as the Ladies defeated Ohio Northern University at Steen Aquatics Center.

GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon women's swimming and diving team's first scored meet of the new year went in the Ladies' favor on Friday as the team defeated Ohio Northern University 170-59 at James A. Steen Aquatics Center.

Kenyon claimed first in all the swimming events highlighted by multiple-event victories from
Emmerson Mirus,
Kendall Vanderhoof,
Crile Hart,
Hannah Orbach-Mandel and
Abby Wilson.

The Ladies started the afternoon taking the top four spots of the 200-yard medley relay.
Summer Otazu,
Katie Rossman,
Celina German and Mirus teamed up to snag first with a time of 1:51.25. Following
Alexis Vetrano's win in the 1,000 freestyle, Kenyon flexed some depth again.

During the 200-yard freestyle race, Wilson touched the wall first in 1:52.96. Kenyon also saw its swimmers claim second through fifth. Near the end of the meet, Wilson added another win during the 200 backstroke as she finished in 2:07.40.

In the next race, the 50 freestyle, the Ladies, once again, took first through fifth with Orbach-Mandel winning in 24.19.

Kendall Vanderhoof got into the winning mix during the next event, the 400-yard individual medley. The senior clocked a 4:38.48 while teammates
Marysol Arce,
Claire Murray,
Gail Anderson and Vetrano claimed second through fifth, respectively. Later, Vanderhoof went on to win the 100-yard freestyle in 53.10.

The Ladies added three more individual event victories. Hart won the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.78);
Kaitlyn Griffith completed the 500 free in 5:15.84 and
Ana Dunn was victorious in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.11).

Kenyon's final win was earned in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Hart, Wilson, Orbach-Mandel and Mirus touched the wall in 1:36.41.

In diving competition,
Juvi Rivera claimed first on the 3-meter board as she tallied 152.93 points.

Tomorrow, the team will break up to compete against Oberlin College at home, while others will ventures to Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
