Ladies get rematch with DePauw

GAMBIER, Ohio – After a tightly-contested, 1-0 loss to DePauw University on November 2, the Kenyon College women's soccer team will get another crack at the Tigers in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round on November 6 at 7 p.m.

The postseason match will take place at DePauw's Reavis Stadium. It is the first-ever meeting in the NCAC Tournament between the two institutions.

The Ladies (8-7-1, 5-2-1 NCAC) are the fourth seed in the tourney while the Tigers earned the top seed after posting an 11-5-2 overall record and 6-0-2 NCAC mark. For Kenyon, it's the sixth-straight year it has made the four-team tourney, extending its program-record run. As for the Tigers, it is their first appearance since 2016.

Despite falling in the regular-season finale to the Tigers, the Ladies do have some history behind them in Wednesday night's affair. In four previous trips to Greencastle, Indiana, Kenyon is 3-0-1 including three straight wins.

Kenyon is led by a few seniors including forward Fallon Raviol and goalie Jillian Countey who had a very good showing against DePauw on November 2 when she denied nine shots. Raviol is tied for third in the NCAC with seven goals while junior defender Caroline McNeer is first with seven assists. Countey brings a 1.24 goals against average mark into the match along with .788 save percentage and 21 career shutouts.

The home Tigers bring two of the best offensive weapons in the conference into the match. Alex Berkley and Alex Wendt have each scored seven goals. Plus, Berkley's five assists rank in the top five of the NCAC. Collectively, DePauw led the conference scoring 1.94 goals per game. Defensively, the Tigers put together a strong performance in league play. In eight matches, the Tigers surrendered just two goals. Freshman keeper Reanna Stiehler started 15 matches, posted a 1.05 GAA and notched 10 shutouts which were two off the single-season DePauw record.

Tickets for the match are $7 for adults and $3 for children (18 and under). NCAC students with a valid institution ID will be admitted free of charge.
